SLINKY STATOR CORE WINDING AND TIG WELDING MACHINE (ÀÑÌ112)

ÀÑÌ112 is an automatic machine, designed for the spiral (slinky) winding of die-stamped strip of sheet iron (with high content of silicon) and tig welding of the wound spiral strip under pressure to form the shape of the finished stator core.
The machine frame is made out of alluminum profiles with solid steel supporting plate, on which main machine units are disposed. A bearing supported 3-posision rotary indexing table is disposed in the middle, driven by a pneumatic cylinder and a rack. The indexing table carries the three freely rotating seats with four centering pins for the stator core location.
The following operations are performed on the three working positions:

POSITION I - Sheet iron strip winding. Consists of strip feeding unit, winding mechanism with sensor for detecting of the required length, and cutting off mechanism. The working cycle is started by indexing the table to bring a free seat to loading position. The sheet iron strip is fed and wound in downward direction along a guiding chute. When the first centering pin is reached by the strip, a pneumatically driven plate presses the strip end on the pin. Further strip winding induces rotation of the seat, thus introducing the strip slots on the four centering pins. After the preset length of sheet iron is wound, the strip is cut off on the required spot and another indexing of the rotary table is performed to bring the next seat in winding position.
POSITION II – Stator core welding. The already wound core is indexed and coarsely located with cut-off ends fitting one of the weldings. The cycle is started with introducing a splined arbor (driven by a hydraulic press) inside the hole of the stator core. First tig welding step is performed using 4 water cooled burners(electrodes) simultaneously. Then the hydraulic press is released and the splined arbor is turned to 40° together with the stator core. The second welding step is performed and the splined arbor is pulled out of the stator core and brought back to initial position.
POSITION ²²² – Workpiece ejection (through manipulator) on an output conveyor.
