WORKPLACE FOR MANUAL HAIRPIN COIL INSERTION INTO DC MOTOR ARMATURE STACKS (ACM150)

The ACM150 workplace is built on a solid wood table top, on which is fixed a steel plate, carrying the armature seat cup that can be freely rotated by hand for easy coil arrangement.  A piece of guiding grooves for the coil ends is fixed at the cup bottom with a hollow shaft in the middle, on which is shifted vertically a disc with steel pins, used to support the coils during their arrangement. This disc is retained in upper position during the coil arrangement by a spring retainer. The lifting of the disc together with the retaining pins is done manually by pulling a vertical lever with handle.
On two steel columns attached to the base plate is mounted a vertical pneumatic cylinder aligned with the armature seat. To its piston rod is fixed a changeable tip to clamp the coils against a stop to the armature stack face. This pneumatic cylinder is actuated by pressing two start push-buttons, disposed below the top of the table, performing a feeding down hold-to-run movement. Releasing one or both of the buttons
reverses instantly the shifting direction back up to the starting position.
Manually operated lever system, located under the table serves to push up the finished armature from its workpiece after the arrangement. As an option, this lever control system may be replaced by a pneumatic cylinder.

The hairpin coils that are to be installed in the armature are fed on a chute on or near the workplace table.
