AUTOMATIC HAIRPIN CONDUCTOR FORMING MACHINE FOR THE PROCESSING OF DC MOTOR ARMATURES/ALTERNATOR STATORS USING RECTANGULAR COPPER WIRE (ACM73 SERIES)

The ACM73 hairpin forming machine is designed especially for single turn coils for DC motor armatures and alternator stators. Raw material is bare or enameled rectangular copper wire, provided on spools of appropriate size. The wire feeding of the machine is done by a motorized device, dereeling with speed, automatically synchronized with the machine working rate. The machine performes consecutively the operations of wire straightening, feeding the exact developped lenght of wire, "U"-bending, pointing and and cutting-off with twisting at the needed angle. Additional attachments are provided for stripping of the wire varnish at the hairpin ends when enameled wire is used. All machine units are mounted on the aluminum longitudinal machine frame, thus giving the possibility to adjust them according to the specific developedS wire length. Exact position of the machine units can be read on the machine millimetric scales in order to record the specific hairpin parameters and use them for future easier readjustment. The machine is able to process virtually any hairpin conductor variety without need of specific tooling. Changeover is reduced to the lowest possible time by providing setting-up spacers for the different coil varieties.
