AUTOMATIC MACHINE FRICTION WELDING FOR PLASTIC CONTAINERS OF WET VACUUM CLEANERS (ÀÑÌ80)

ÀÑÌ80 is a semi-automatic machine, designed for the friction welding of the top and bottom elements of the plastic containers of wet vacuum cleaners.
Machine frame is made out of aluminum profiles with main supporting steel plate, carrying all machine units. A vertically fixed spindle is bearing supported on the main plate and is driven by a variable speed AC motor through a V-belt transmission. To the spindle is fixed the clamping device of the top element of the plastic container. An opposite spindle that carries the clamping device for the bottom part of the container is fixed on a slide, guided along linear guideways. The slide is driven by a pneumatic cylinder with adjustable pressing force that is fixed to a solid upper plated, supported on four columns. A pneumatic brake controls the retaining/releasing of the upper spindle with respect to the signal given by the machine PLC.
The working cycle is performed in the following sequence:
1. Manual loading of the set of top and bottom parts of the plastic container on the lower spindle fixture. The assembled parts are orientated with respect to the bottom tool locators.
2. Starting of automatic cycle I - the slide is lowered with no pressure and the brake is actuated. While the upper fixture is in still position, the lower fixture is rotated by hand until the ledges of the top element enter inside the respective holes of the upper fixture.
3. Starting of automatic cycle II - the pressure of the pressing cylinder is actuated. After a preset time interval the brake is off and rotation of the lower spindle is started for another time interval, after which the working cycle is off and the finished part is ready to be unloaded.
