DYNAMIC BALANCING MACHINE FOR DC MOTOR ARMATURES AND ALTERNATOR ROTORS (ACM94)

ÀÑÌ94 is a semi-automatic readjustable machine, designed basically for dynamic balancing of DC motor armatures and alternator rotors, but it can be used for the balancing of various types of rotors of similar specifications.
Machine frame is made out of aluminum profiles, upon which all working units are disposed including the two measuring supports, the measuring and displaying control units and the electric cabinet. The measuring supports can be shifted along their dovetail guideways according to the workpiece shaft length and fixed by means of the handles provided for the purpose. Workpiece drive is performed by means of AC motor (with variable speed controller) through belt transmission, disposed below the workpiece axis for easier loading.
The measuring control unit is disposed on the topside of the machine and is adjustable by height and angular orientation. A colour touch screen display visualizes the results for the operator. The automatic cycle is started by pressing the control unit button (green);by pressing the additional push-button, fixed on the machine frame; or by closing the protective cover (where applicable). The workpiece is supported on two immobile wheels. Two piezo-electric transducers (each disposed on the respective measuring support) are used for measuring of the dynamic reactions of the rotating workpiece.
Workpiece positioning is established by means of a sensor that transmits a pulse to the measuring device on every workpiece revolution. Photoelectric sensor or proximity switch can be used for the purpose, depending on the possibilities presented by the processed rotor/armature. The machine is equipped with one optical and two proximity switches accordingly.
Data measurements and machine control is ensured by means of Mitsubishi programmable controller with special ADC (Analogue Digital Converter) that permits 19000 readings per second to be taken during the dynamic test, synchronized with the revolutions of the rotor. Up to 99 programs can be stored in the non volatile memory.
Machine calibration is performed semi-automatically without any need of master workpiece and doesn’t require any special operator skills. During the calibration procedure two measurements of the workpiece are performed. Before taking the second measurement, the operator should put a standard trial weight on the workpiece.
Specialized software for easier visualization of the measured values is supplied with the machine according to the specific form of the parts to be processed, showing the exact places and weight to be added on the operator panel screen. Static unbalance can be measured and displayed as well.
