TEST RIG FOR ELECTRICAL PARAMETERS TESTING OF COMMUTATOR MOTOR ARMATURE (ACM97)

The ACM97 tester is designed for fully automatic checking of the electrical characteristics of AC or DC commutator motor armatures during the process of their production. Two magazines for collection of the rejected parts and two testing stations are provided on the machine - in this particular case, disposed above the main chain conveyor of an automatic production line.
Testing station I - armature insulation resistance through high voltage flash test. It consists of heaving mechanism, contact plates and rejection gravity magazine. Heaving is achieved by means of an armature plastic support. Three couples of contact plates are used - one for the armature stack, one for the commutator and another one for the armature shaft. The first contact plate of each couple is used for supplying the testing voltage, and through the second one the same voltage is measured. The armature stack contact plate couple is earthed. Two preset high voltages are supplied to the other two contact plate couples the way to have the sum of the voltages supplied between the commutator and the shaft. Leakage currents of the above two voltages are measured with sample time of 60 ms. The value of the two leakage currents is used for checking the presence of armature stack contact.
Testing station II resistance measurement of each winding and brazing joint, surge test and neutral zone test (checks for proper orientation of windings to commutator slots). It consists of heaving, clamping and indexing mechanisms, 8 contact electrodes and rejected part magazine. Heaving is achieved by means of an armature plastic support. A pneumatic cylinder actuates the clamping of the armature by entering the shaft CE side inside the collet chuck. The 8 contact electrodes are pneumatically driven by separate cylinders and are in contact with the armature commutator.
